Gavin was inspired to make these vases. He first designed them on on paper, he then made a template on the computer, finally slabs of clay were made to build them. He spent about a week just rolling out slabs of clay and making as many varieties of cone shaped vases as he could. He consulted with me about surface decoration. We decided on a primitive rustic, but modern finish. The inside is glazed and water tight, the exterior has a very rustic black and white matte finish.
